Disability policy - for students with a disability
This policy contains information relating to disability access, admission, disclosure, reasonable adjustment, harassment and responsibilities for students and staff of Southbank Institute.

Fee exemption or extreme financial hardship
Extreme Financial Hardship is categorised by the following criteria:
- the circumstance must be of an extreme nature, therefore, mere ‘inconvenience’ or ‘discomfort’ is not sufficient;
- the hardship must be financial in nature; and
- the hardship must be of such an extreme nature that it is outside that with which the average person would usually have to manage
Fee waivers of between 25% - 100% may be available in circumstances that meet the criteria above. For Further information please contact the Program Enrolment and General Enquiries Line 13 72 48 (+61 137248 Overseas) to make an appointment with a Student Counsellor.
Computer access agreement
This document outlines the terms and conditions for accessing the Internet or other computer applications at Southbank Institute. This information is also supplied in your enrolment pack.

Internet Enrolment Policy
This policy requires that all full and part-time students must enrol via the internet on the Student Self Service website (some exemptions apply).

Withdraw from classes when the class end date is due to occur within 21 days
You can swap classes up to 2 weeks after the classes commence. If you withdraw completely you will not be entitled to a refund because refunds can only be issued if you withdraw prior to commencement of class.
You are not able to withdraw from classes less than 3 weeks prior to the class end date without incurring academic penalty.

Replacement or additional student records
Contact the Customer Service Centre to order replacement or additional student records. You will be charged a small fee for these.

Student ID cards
This policy explains the principles and guidelines for compulsory purchase and issue of Student ID cards to all students.

Student orientation
Orientations are compulsory for students to attend, as valuable information relating to your chosen course will be covered during these sessions.
Faculties will send out information regarding dates and times of Orientation through a letter that you will receive prior to commencement of your course. If you are unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances you must contact your Course Coordinator to inform them of your situation and alternative arrangements to receive the relevant information will be arranged.
