1. When is the graduation ceremony held?
The July 2010 Graduation ceremonies will be held in the C Block Performance Centre from Monday 12 July to Friday 16 July.
2. How much does it cost?
Students:
Students wishing to attend their graduation ceremony are required to pay $40 which includes their gown hire, graduation program and refreshments.
Guest tickets:
Guest tickets for the ceremonies are $15 per person and include post ceremony graduation refreshments.
3. What time do I have to be there?
Registration, photography and gowning will open 1½ hours prior to the commencement of the Graduation Ceremony. Students MUST be at the venue 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony to attend their ceremony briefing. Students are encouraged to arrive early to ensure sufficient time is allowed for gowning and photographs.
Doors will not open for guests until 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Guests are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the commencement of the ceremony.
4. Where do I collect my tickets from?
Your ticket and guest tickets will be available on the day of your graduation ceremony for you to collect. Please collect your tickets upon arrival (before you collect your gown) from the registration desk in front of the C Block Performance Centre on the Ground Floor. The registration desk will be open 1 1/2 hours before the commencement of the ceremony.
5. What if I don't pass my studies?
There is always a risk when you register before your results are finalised that something may go wrong and you might not be eligible to graduate. If that happens, you are able to apply for a refund of your Graduation registration costs. If you are unsure about your academic eligibility, please contact your faculty.
6. Disabled access?
There is disabled access at Southbank Institute of Technology. If you have special needs (e.g. wheelchair access, hearing impaired, etc) whether for the graduate or the guests, please contact Marketing on 3244 5012 or email marketing@southbank.edu.au.
7. What about graduation photos?
Professional photographers, Silver Rose, are available to take individual, group and family portraits. They also photograph each student with the Institute Director at the moment of presentation. They have a range of packages available, including framing services. Or you can take your own photos before, after, or during the ceremony if you wish.
8. What are the colours for my area of study?
(Please note: these colloars are only for Diploma and above qualifications)
The collar colours are:
- Gold - Health Sciences
- Blue - Business and Community Education
- Claret - Design, Arts and Hospitality
