Better TAFE Facilities
Teaching and Learning Capital Program
Southbank Institute of Technology has been allocated S2m from the Federal Government's Better TAFE Facilities Fund.
Southbank Institute of Technology is the principle provider of print and associated training in Queensland through the Queensland School of Print and Graphic Arts (QSPGA). Funding will be used to relocate QSPGA from the Morningside campus to the Southbank campus and refurbish an area in B Block to accommodate the industry hub for printing technology and business enterprise.
The site will comply with contemporary building standards and will encompass all green building guidelines including:
- water harvesting for irrigation
- waterless urinals
- T5 low energy light fittings
- sophisticated building management systems to minimise costs
- low flow taps in all areas
- flexible internal spaces
- low VOC finishes and materials
RELOCATION AND UPGRADING OF QSPGA

The relocation of the QSPGA from Morningside to Southbank is finalised. The work areas are completed with all relevant furniture, fittings, equipment and building services.
Southbank Institute of Technology is the principle provider of print and associated training in Qld. and these new facilities highlight these specialty spaces. The design of these areas are consistent with that of the established campus and staff and students are utilising these spaces and preparing for a Recognition Ceremony sometime in August 2010.
