Our Decisions

The Board of Southbank Institute of Technology was appointed by the Minister for Education and training and Minister for the Arts on 2 May 2008 with a charter to develop the strategic direction of the organisation.

This Institute is in a unique position to deliver the skills and knowledge Queensland’s workforce needs to successfully compete in an increasingly global market.

There are many stimulating challenges ahead for us, including playing a lead role in forging best practice governance for the broader Vocational Education and Training sector.

The Board is committed to setting a direction for the Institute that will see it deliver world-class vocational education relevant to industry and which succeeds in an open market.

Our focus is to realign our products and their delivery so as to position the Institute as the pre-eminent provider of associate professional education and training in Australia.

The Board is dedicated to ensuring the profitability of the Institute and providing a framework for its long-term growth. This will be achieved through the practical provision of educational facilities that are accessible to the community and deliver high quality vocational education.
