Requirements
The most imperative skill you need for completing an online program is time management.
Learning online requires the self-discipline to set aside time to complete your learning. It means you have to make online learning a priority and not let other activities interfere. Good time management skills and self-motivation will contribute to your success.
Recommended Technical Requirements
To effectively complete an online program, the following technical requirements are needed:
- a PC, running Windows 95 or above or in some programs a Mac running System 7.5 or above
- sufficient random access memory (RAM), 64MB or above
- a 56K modem or broadband connection to the Internet
- Internet account, with an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE5 or above), Netscape Communicator (4.5 or above)
- email program such as Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Netscape Communicator or Eudora
- floppy disk or CD
- word processing program
- additional software, as required for some programs.
Most of our programs material is entirely web browser based although some programs utilise the Adobe PDF file format so the Adobe Acrobat Reader is useful to have. If a program requires other plug-ins or helper applications, it is indicated within the program.
