Liaison librarian services
Each subject area at Southbank Institute of Technology is supported by a liaison librarian. Your Liaison librarian is responsible for ensuring you have access to library resources, services, policies and procedures. Contact your liaison librarian for help with:
- Information skills - Information literacy classes and library tours to assist your students to locate, evaluate and use information effectively.
- Southbank Assignment writing and Information Literacy (SAIL) - An online self-paced course covering the steps involved in researching information and preparing assignments, aimed at all Southbank Institute of Technology students and staff.
- Research - The library supports the learning and research needs of staff and provides advice on print, electronic and internet resources available in your specific area.
- Collection development - Advice on the purchase on new resources (books, DVD/videos, serials and electronic databases) and assistance with resource lists and bibliographies.
- Library Impact Statements - When applying for course registration or for audit requirements, it is necessary to supply library impact statements outlining the possible impacts new programs may have on library resources and services.
- Copyright - Advice and assistance with copyright and intellectual property issues, and obtaining copyright permissions for pre-existing materials or locating alternative resources.
