Associate Borrowers Services
Students from non-TAFE Queensland institutions and members of the public can join Southbank Institute of Technology library as associate borrowers. Associate borrowers may borrow from any of the Southbank Institute of Technology campus libraries and can access a range of services and facilities. Please note that this does not include internet, email or the library's databases.
Borrowing conditions and loan periods
- Associate borrowers may borrow 4 standard loan items at any one time. The loan period is 14 days.
- Associate borrowers may borrow items from all Southbank Institute of Technology campus libraries.
- 2 renewals per item are permitted, depending on demand.
- Staff and students of Southbank Instituteof Technology have priority access to resources.
Associate borrowers are not permitted to borrow the following:
- Video or DVDs (which can be viewed in the library)
- Music CDs
- High demand items (7 day or overnight loans)
- Serials (magazines)
- Reference material
- Interlibrary loans.
Charges apply for lost or overdue items.
Becoming an associate borrower
Apply for associate borrower membership by visiting any of the Southbank Institute of Technology campus libraries and completing an Application to Borrow form. You will also need to provide:
- Photo ID, and
- Proof of current address.
Membership is for a period of 12 months from date of payment.
Membership costs
- Past staff and students (please provide proof): A$55.00 (GST inclusive)
- Private individuals: A$155.00 (GST inclusive).
Fees must be paid at the Client Services Centre, A Block, Southbank Campus. Present your receipt and completed Application to Borrow form to the library staff at any of the campus libraries.
