Plagiarism

The Southbank Institute of Technology Student Rules handbook contains information regarding the official policies and procedures of the Institute.

» View Policy 6: Student Rules (pdf, 164kb)

In this document, under section 18 - Misconduct, 18.1 Academic Misconduct and 18.3 Immediate Consequences of Misconduct relates directly to Cheating/Plagiarism.

The Institute has defined plagiarism as:

"directly copying word for word another person's work without proper acknowledgement by (b) using or developing another person's ideas without acknowledging them, (c) using the work of other students (with or without their permission) and claiming it as your own."

All plagiarism is unacceptable, therefore the Library also seeks to help students with extra information on plagiarism and copyright, through the Southbank Assignment writing and Information Literacy course.
