How to Enrol
Self-paced courses
To assist with the enrolment process, we would like you to visit the e-Learn centre of your choice during office hours (Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) and discuss your learning needs with the staff. They will assist you in choosing the most appropriate courses and also provide you with the correct enrolment forms.
Southbank Institute of Technology offers a Student Self Service website, which provides students with a fast and effective way of enrolling online and managing their student records. The site allows students to enrol in programs without having to queue. It also allows students to quickly and easily change their personal details, review their enrolments, their academic history and make payments to their student account.
Concession cardholders, in most courses, may receive a fee reduction, but the current Health Care card must be presented when enrolling. If special funding is required, e.g. Centrelink, please obtain written approval before enrolling.
Internet Usage: Enrolled students can download 300 megabytes of data relating to their course every semester. This is called the Internet quota. Students can purchase extra Internet quota by contacting the Student Service Centre at Southbank campus, with another 50 megabytes for A$25. Recreational Internet surfing or email usage requires an enrolment in e-Learn centre usage.
All students are required to pay a yearly administrative fee of A$14. This includes a student ID card which must be carried while on campus for security purposes. The ID card is proof of identity when undertaking the required assessments and will also enable access to printing and photocopying facilities. At the e-Learn centres and libraries on all campuses, students can add (printing) credit to their card.
Please note that e-Learn courses are GST free with the exceptions of Design Your Own Web Page, and the Keyboarding Speed and Accuracy test.
It is recommended that students only enrol in one subject at any one time.
