Professional Development
We are committed to improving organisational and individual performance through professional development and training of our staff, with the goal of developing a skilled and adaptable workforce.
Professional development and training refers to the enhancement of competencies and behaviours within or beyond the requirements of the role to meet present or future Southbank Institute objectives. This includes the following:
- internally provided activities including tailored training, information and awareness sessions
- conferences and seminars
- return or release to industry where necessary to maintain the employee's currency in their area of expertise
- Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS) where approved and necessary for the ongoing effectiveness of that employee in their area of expertise
- self paced learning in flexible delivery mode
- higher duties or relieving opportunities
- job rotation
- secondment.
