The Queensland Cultural Centre adjacent to Brisbane's South Bank Parklands is home to the Queensland Art Gallery. The gallery houses extensive collections of Australian, Aboriginal, European and Asian art and attracts some of the world's best touring exhibitions. Also at South Bank are the Queensland Museum and the State Library.

The City centre is a short walk from South Bank across the Victoria Bridge. The heart of the city is the Queen Street Mall. The mall is a lively public space with a wonderful blend of historical and contemporary architecture. It's a great place to enjoy lunch in the sun and be entertained by buskers, or to simply 'people-watch'.

Live music clubs, bars and discos to suit all tastes can be found across the city. Some of the most popular spots are located in the Riverside quarter, Caxton Street, and in Fortitude Valley.
