DIPLOMA OF EVENT MANAGEMENT
Specialisation: Sport and Recreation
Sports and Recreation isn’t just about play. Every event needs a manager - sporting associations, community based organisations,, festivals, local councils, and universities all need skilled professionals to co-ordinate programs, plan publicity, stage productions, obtain sponsorship, and handle the details of entertaining an excitement-hungry public.
Industry placement is a compulsory and exciting component of the course where students learn valuable skills working alongside event organisers in such organisations as AFL Queensland, Bicycle Queensland, The Leukemia Foundation, Redcliffe Shire Council, Pine Rivers Shire Council, and Red Cross.
Our special partnership arrangement with SouthBank Corporation (Events Department) offers students ongoing support and interaction in the classroom throughout the duration of the course.
