Diploma of Hospitality
The Diploma has no formal entry requirements, however, the Southbank Institute of Technology selection process bases entry on the following criteria:
• School leavers must have completed Year 12 or equivalent with a Sound Achievement in English and Mathematics.
• Non school-leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal competencies.
• Successful completion of an Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate III or higher in any area of study requiring formal written communication and numeracy skills.
• Relevant experience in the Hospitality industry.

Diploma graduates will receive a minimum Tertiary Entrance Rank (TER) of 82 (OP equivalent 10), QUT and Griffith University will give 5 bonus rank points bringing a graduate’s TER to 87 (OP equivalent 8) and distinction and credit grades on Performance Level Assessment units in the diploma can further increase a graduate’s TER to 91 (OP equivalent 6).

Classes are generally timetabled between 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with some restaurant classes finishing at 10.00pm to reflect the working conditions common to the hospitality industry.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.
Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.

- Full Rate: $ 4,149
A $40 annual Administration Fee is applicable to Government subsidised enrolments.
Government subsidised fees must be paid through existing payment methods at the time of enrolment.
Full Fee: $21,000 VET FEE-HELP* eligible.
To be eligible for VET FEE-HELP, and defer payment of fees, a student must be enrolled in a full fee paying course.
