Certificate II in Auslan

Stay in touch with the latest communication methods for people with hearing impairments. Get a complete understanding of Auslan, with 5 separate subjects on the language that progressively build up a comprehensive knowledge and skills base. Plus with an additional 4 subjects that provide an insight into the history and culture of the deaf community, it’s the perfect course to connect in more ways than one.

Further study such as courses form Certificate III in Auslan or the Diploma of Interpreting (Auslan/English)

Entry Criteria

Be able to participate in small informal groups  
and
Have the ability to complete written and spoken English language  
and
An interest in Auslan and the deaf community

Program Articulation

Successful completion of this program may assist students to gain entry into further study programs and/or may contribute towards study credits.

Program Duration

Part Time: This program is offered part time over a period of 2 - 3 years. It is possible to complete Certificate II in Auslan in 1 year and 1 term - depending on the number of courses undertaken each term. Classes are generally held in the evenings from 6.00pm – 9.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Full time and day classes are not available.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.

Standard course cost will be charged for units of study/courses credited via RPL.

Please ensure that your name, address and telephone numbers are placed on the waiting list by either e-mailing us or telephoning Student Administration & Services on 13 72 48.

An enrolment pack will be sent out approximately one month before each intake. Enrolments are processed on a "first in, first served" basis until maximum class numbers are reached.

Concession Rate     $350.00

Payment is only required for the individual modules selected at the time of enrolment.

Students cannot enrol in all courses from the program at one time.
